More Benefits Now Included as Standard
We’ve enhanced our campervan insurance with additional benefits now included as standard, subject to the level of cover selected and applicable policy terms, conditions and limits. These enhancements apply to new customers from September 1 and will be added for existing Dolmen campervan customers from their next renewal starting October 1. Depending on your cover, benefits include enhanced cover for audio and infotainment equipment and satellite navigation systems, replacement lock cover of up to €2,000, and misfuelling assistance on Comprehensive policies. Please refer to your policy documentation for full details of the cover, limits and exclusions that apply.

A campervan is a vehicle designed, constructed or adapted to provide temporary living accommodation, with permanently fitted equipment such as a sink and cooking facilities. To qualify for Dolmen’s scheme, the vehicle must be taxed as a camper on the logbook.
2. What types of campervans and motorhomes can Dolmen insure?
Dolmen’s campervan scheme covers a range of leisure vehicles, including A-Class motorhomes, coachbuilt/C-Class campers and conversions. Eligibility criteria apply.
3. Can I insure a self-build or converted campervan?
Yes. Self-build and converted campervans can be insured once you have an SQI report within the last 12 months and or valid CVRT as a motorcaravan
4. Can a campervan be my main vehicle?
Yes. A campervan can be your main form of transport, although an additional rate will apply as it will generally be used more than the average campervan.
5. Can I use my campervan for business purposes?
Dolmen’s campervan scheme does not cover business or commercial use, including hire and reward. However, Dolmen may be able to provide alternative cover, so contact the team to discuss your requirements.
6. Can I travel abroad with my campervan insurance?
Yes. Cover applies when travelling in Europe, including EU member states, the UK, Norway, Switzerland and Iceland. Bring your policy documents with you when travelling and contact Dolmen before travelling outside the covered area.
7. What does Dolmen campervan insurance cover?
The policy provides fully comprehensive cover and automatically includes benefits such as windscreen/glass cover, contents cover, fire brigade charges, portable generator cover, pedal cycle cover, awning cover and replacement car cover, subject to the policy’s applicable limits, excesses, terms and conditions.
8. Does campervan insurance include breakdown assistance?
Yes. Breakdown assistance is automatically included (campers up to 8.5metres in length and 7 tonne gross vehicle weight) – It covers events including mechanical or It covers events including mechanical or electrical breakdown, failure to start, punctures, replacement locks if keys are stolen from your home and running out of fuel. 9. Are bicycles covered by my campervan insurance?
Yes. Pedal cycles are covered when securely locked to a bicycle rack attached to your campervan or while in your campervan subject to policy limits, excesses, terms and conditions.
10. Is there a minimum age for campervan insurance?
Yes. You must be over 25 to qualify for Dolmen’s campervan insurance scheme. If you don’t meet the scheme criteria, Dolmen may still be able to help arrange alternative cover.
11. Are there campervans or vehicles Dolmen cannot insure?
Certain vehicles don’t qualify for the standard scheme, including campers owned or taxed in company names, vehicles used as a permanent residence, some large converted buses or trucks and vehicles adapted for certain commercial uses. Dolmen may still be able to arrange cover outside the scheme, so contact the team if you’re unsure.
